Extractives industry training advisory group
Following WorkSafe’s Proposed requirements for granting
Extractives Certificates of Competence (CoC) document in
August 2017, and significant numbers of industry
submissions on it, MinEx have established an Extractives
Industry Training Advisory Group (EITAG) to:
- Assist the BOE in implementation of agreed changes to CoCs
- Provide leadership in moving to a qualification based CoC system
- Work with training providers to establish better ways of delivering training and site based assessments
- Provide a forum within which an informed discussion could be run between trainers, trainees, companies, regulators and policy
- Review assessor registration applications and provide advice on suitability to MITO.
Members have been appointed to the group on the basis
of their knowledge, experience and ability. Members
mandate is to bring to the group that knowledge and
experience, and to apply those attributes to benefit of the
extractives sector.
The group as of January 2023 is comprised of:
- Wayne Scott (MinEx)
- Joe Hunter, Mike Higgins, Tim Kennedy (Quarrying)
- Geoff Guthrie (Metalliferous)
- Fiona Bartier (Coal)
- Grant Myocevich (Tunnelling)
