Changes at MinEx

Posted on 30 August 2016

MinEx CEO Les McCracken is stepping down and is taking some well-earned leave through to midSeptember.

Les’s contribution to safety in our sector has been immense, and he is well recognised for his work ethic and technical capability. Les led industry input into the new health and safety legislation and codes of practice, chaired the Governance Group for the review of extractives qualifications and a quarry/opencast mines working group, drove the establishment of the Training Leadership Group and answered many inquiries from quarries and mines, small and large.

The MinEx Board hopes that Les will continue to provide his expertise, particularly as we work with industry and WorkSafe on the urgent review of regulations for the mining/quarrying sector.

In the interim, Chris Baker will act as Executive Chairman, ably assisted by Jodi Turton from Straterra’s office and Brendon Burns, MinEx’s communications adviser. Please contact Jodi in the first instance with any queries.
